What I’m Currently Loving – Health Routine

I wanted to share the items that I currently use as a part of my health routine. These items I have been using for quite awhile and I love them. They have become staples in my home.

I started using collagen because my knees hurt when I would run, go up or down stairs, and stoop. It was getting to the point that I stopped running and cringed at the thought of stairs or getting on the floor. I wasn’t old but I felt like it. I read about how collagen could help with my joints so after a little searching, I found Vital Proteins. I love their original collagen and I add it to my coffee or Shakeology. But their Matcha Collagen is my favorite. I make it like I make any other hot tea: hot water, a teaspoon of honey and a little milk. It is delicious. It has replaced my coffee on most days and my knees are 1000 times better! I am back to running. I don’t even think about stairs anymore and crouching down to get something from the bottom cabinet doesn’t make me cry. I highly recommend trying Vital Protein Collagen. It took about a month for me to notice a difference. But I really noticed a negative difference when I ran out and went a week or so without it.

I started drinking Shakeology because I was barely eating at all and I started to worry that I wasn’t getting the nutrition I needed. I started to look into protein/nutrition shakes but most of them had sucralose (Splenda) in them which gives me hives. Shakeology was the only one I found that didn’t so I gave it a try and I love it. It is a bit pricey (for me) but I drink one shake for breakfast/lunch (brunch?) so it replaces 2 meals and vitamins. If you are interested, there are a million people that sell Beachbody (I am approached all the time by them) but I think I can sign you up for it too. I signed up as a coach for the discount but don’t pursue it as a business. So I guess if you want to get the shakes without being hassled to workout, I’m your girl, haha.

On to the “beauty” health portion. I am a low maintenance girl who doesn’t wear a lot of make up. I do however have sensitive skin so I am always searching for products that are gentle but work well to keep my skin from breaking out or drying out.

I love this bar of Rosemary & Lavender soap from Grove Collaborative. It cleans my skin without drying it. I especially love it when my skin is irritated. It is gentle enough to cleanse and calm my skin. I cut the bar in 4 pieces to make it last longer. It usually lasts me about a month.

For the times when my skin decides to break out, I use this Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. I learned when I was a teen that salicylic acid didn’t help my breakouts but benzoyl peroxide did. This is one of the only cleansers I have found that uses benzoyl peroxide. I use this a couple times a week or I will put a dab on a zit that shows up to clear it up quickly.

For the daytime I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel with sunscreen. It is light, not oily. It keeps my face hydrated and I am protecting my skin from the sun.

At night, I use Olay Regenerist Moisturizer. It is thick and creamy. It doesn’t clog my pores. And in the morning my skin is smooth. I love it.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Conditioner is my go to conditioner. I have crazy thick but fine hair that loves to get frizzy. This conditioner makes my hair smooth without weighing it down. I used to fight static with my hair in the Winter but it hasn’t been a problem since using this conditioner. It’s awesome.

Aveeno Fresh Greens Blend conditioner is my splurge. It is not my regular conditioner but it smells AMAZING. I use it once a week just to enjoy it.

These items are what I am using currently and loving. I hope this helped you if you were looking for something to add to your routine. You can click on any image to purchase that product (except Shakeology). Some of the links are affiliate links but all that means is that if you buy it, it doesn’t affect you but I get a few cents for recommending the product. So if you do see something you like and try it, thank you! All of the opinions are honest and I only recommend what I use and love.
