Make A Plan For 2020

There are only 2 days left in 2019! I don’t know how the year flew by so fast but I know I don’t want the same to happen in 2020. I am taking these last 2 days to decide what I want this next year to look like. I want 2020 to be a year of intention and for that I need to have a plan.

Plan your 2020

  • Goals: First write out the things you want to accomplish this coming year. Maybe it is to lose weight, eat healthier or drink more water. Maybe you want to start a new hobby, save money or change your career. Whatever it is, write it down.
  • Plan: Beside each goal, write down what you need to accomplish it. How are you going to accomplish this goal? Maybe you need to rework your schedule or take on a side job. Maybe you need to update your resume or write out a business plan. Whatever it will take to accomplish your goal, write it down.
  • Tools: These are what you need to follow through with the plan. The right tools make following a plan a lot easier and more fun. Maybe it is workout clothes, a water bottle and a gym membership. Maybe it’s a website. Whatever you need to follow the plan you made above.
  • Get excited. Starting something new and accomplishing goals is not easy. It is exciting when you think about them but few people actually do what it takes to accomplish their goals. Build rewards into your plan to make things more fun. Maybe you get to go shopping for a new outfit after losing 10 lbs. Maybe it’s a weekend trip. A reward can be whatever you enjoy (that isn’t going to throw you off your plan).
  • Tell a friend. Sharing your goals with others helps to keep you accountable. You are more likely to start and less likely to quit if others know what you are trying to accomplish.

Make 2020 a great year by accomplishing new goals and living intentionally. Make it fun. Make this year one to remember. And start taking control of your life so another year doesn’t get away from you.
